Overnoy Crinquand Trousseau "La Biodode" 2022

In the glass it’s a pale garnet that seems to breathe the folded geology of Pupillin’s clay-limestone hills, hinting at wild herbs and smoked raspberry briar before the first sip. A swirl brings out crushed red currant and pomegranate skins, but it’s the undernotes of cracked white pepper, dried tarragon and a whisper of cedared leather that give this Trousseau its quietly magnetic pull. There’s an almost sinewy tension between bright cranberry acidity and a savory seam of forest floor, sage tea and dusty mineral that lengthens toward a finish where graphite and a trace of smoked anise flicker in the cool air. This is Jura’s sly translation of red-fruited vivacity and terroir bite — lithe, aromatic and distinctly alive.
