Dark-edged and expressive, this opens with black cherry skin, mulberry, and plum paste, layered with violets, damp forest floor, and a distinctly wild, herbal note that signals the domaine’s biodynamic hand. The palate is medium-bodied and generous, with savory dark fruit and fine but slightly assertive tannins, carried by steady acidity but edged with a feral, earthy intensity that can feel a touch dominant. Notes of bitter herbs, composted soil, and iron emerge through the mid-palate, leading to a dry, structured finish that favors character over polish. A Gevrey of real substance and intent, though one that leans a bit heavily into its naturalist expression, occasionally at the expense of clarity and lift.
